All Golden Arrows in Original Umihara Kawase is a speedrun you can attempt on either of the 2015 versions. Instead of running a single level or path, this is a 100%, fresh file to finish run. Once you have all 60 Golden Arrows, you've completed it. If you've already completed the fields you have left, you can even start, select, and quit.

In order to get an exit's Golden Arrow, you must complete it in Start Mode. In Practice Mode, if you completed a field and got a Silver Arrow, then completed it in Start Mode and didn't get a PB, it'll still display your best time and a Golden Arrow. As long as you complete a field in Start Mode once, you'll have the Golden Arrow for that field.

In this run, you will have to do Field 28. Fortunately, you can time it in your head to make sure you clear the most fields possible before that happens.

You can do these routes in any order that suits you. Of course, I've cut out Fields 0 and 1, since you always play them and they go without saying.

Here are all the different routes you have to do for an optimal run:

Let's start with the obvious ones: 2 > 10 > 11 > 12 > 36 > 52 > 55 and 2 > 10 > 11 > 12 > 36 > 45 > 50 > 51 > 56 > 57.

Here are others that complete the most and repeat the least.

2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6 > 7 > 8 > 14 > 15 > 16 > 17 > 20 > 21 > 22 >23 exit after 30 minutes> 28

2 > 10 > 11 > 8 > 14 > 15 > 16 > 17 > 30 > 33 > 37 > 38 > 41 > 42 > 43 > 49 > 52 (quit)

2 > 10 > 11 > 8 > 14 > 15 > 16 > 17 > 20 > 21 > 22 > 38 > 41 > 42 > 26 > 31 > 46 > 47 > 48 > 56 (quit)

2 > 10 > 11 > 8 > 14 > 15 > 16 > 17 > 30 > 49 (quit)

2 > 10 > 11 > 18 > 23 > 24 > 25 > 29 > 34 > 35 (quit)

2 > 10 > 11 > 18 > 23 > 24 > 42 (quit)

2 > 10 > 11 > 8 > 14 > 15 > 40 > 35

So that's 9 routes, and 5 that do Field 8. Do these in whatever order you want, then do the last 3 in whatever order you want. Quit whenever you've already got the Golden Arrow in a field.

Your final time should be under 2 hours. Of course, restart the run if you get Field 28 before completing 22 to 23, and if you ever get a game over or mess up too much.

I had a go at this on the Vita version tonight.  My first attempt ended badly, but my next run was completed with a time of 1h 47m 44s; having started at 10:21 PM and confirming I had all golden arrows at 12:08:44 AM.

I'll try this again soon and will expect to do better.  I'd prefer to do this on the Vita version, so if you want me to record an attempt to prove my time, I'll need to get a Vita TV.

I appreciate it. Get a Dualshock 4 as well.

I finally completed a run on my own- 1:43:34. It is officially the first run of this category, and was done on the Super Famicom version (the slowest). I not only got a sub 2, but I got a sub 1:45 as well. Awesome.

First of all, you didn't record your run. And second, if you were following my notes, you might have done 24 > 25 > 26 twice and not done 24 > 42 > 26 because of an absentminded typo I made when typing down the route. My mistake.

However you slice it, my run is better and more legitimate. I look forward to competition from you, BJW, Siousatou, just anyone who might run this category as well.

Here's my run:

Got a PB! Very satisfied with this run. I now have a High Score and an All Golden Arrows that I am satisfied with. A time and a score that I can believe most top players will be intimidated by. I plan on introducing more accessible versions of these categories: Deathless High Score and All Golden Arrows Except Field 28. Even if I am good at those, they may be less daunting.

I got 1:37:48. Here is my PB video:

Just modified it. I realized I could do nine routes instead of 10 by merging the 22 to 38 route with the 26 > 31 > 46 > 47 > 48 > 56 > 57 part. Was I really that afraid of doing Field 38 again? Silly me. Also, one of the routes that I edited out had me doing no new fields, ending at 42 to 26. I don't even think I did that in my PB. Still, my PB is very good. The new timesaving technique, in an optimal playthrough, really only saves a couple minutes. And it depends- Field 38 is not my strong suit anyway. That's the beauty of All Golden Arrows, you get to do it however you want.

What about All Golden Arrows + All Lives where you would have to get each life at least once (except on 42 of course).
