I was contemplating doing some simple sprite hacks of Dig Dug and Dig Dug II to be Umihara-themed, considering the early Umihara Kawase prototypes seem to specifically be riffing off them. Would be a nice little callback

Umihara Kawase Fresh! / Re: Umihara Kawase Fresh getting a Steam release in late May

Even reduced it's £23, which is about £15 more than I'd be interested in paying.

With only 10 reviews on Steam I have to wonder how many sales that translates into. 100? 1000? Surely not more than that. Depressing all around, really.

Anyway, happy holidays, folks!

It gets worse: though I still haven't played it since the update, reports from the Steam Community board are that the PC version does not have the same English translation as the Switch version, and the new translation isn't particularly good.  One commenter even went as far as suggesting it was a machine translation.

(And happy holidays to you!)

I think the sensible choice has to be the PC release. But I must admit I'm quite fond of the original adverts. Jacku-potto!

Fresh is 50% off in the Steam sale, and the store page does now list the game as being available in English.  I haven't played it to check whether it's the same English text as the Switch version, but I'm glad I've been proven wrong about it being unlikely to happen this year.

As of December 22, the Steam version still doesn't support English, and the Steam store page still says "English Version:Coming 2020".  That seems unlikely to happen at this point.

Umihara Kawase Shun / Best Shun version?
« Last post by KawaseFan on November 30, 2020, 10:37:45 PM »
Here's a question that hasn't been posted as a topic on the Shun board before: which version do you think is the best?  Does nothing beat the original version for you?  Do you prefer the Second Edition for that original PlayStation (or emulator) experience with the three extra stages?  Does the portability and extra stages of Kanzenban win you over?  Or is the PC version's inclusion of the Kanzenban stages with no ads or artwork in-between any fields more your kind of thing?  Let us know!  Anyone who says Portable gets banned.

Surely there's gotta be an Umihara-themed Bionic Commando rom hack out there?

Now that the Switch/PS4 western release has happened, has anyone here picked up either of those versions?  And if so, what did you think of them?

Let's hope Studio Saizensen doesn't work with Nicalis ever again.

Weeeell, I guess that wasn't the case after all; there was that release a couple of months ago of the PC version of Code of Princess EX, which exists for some reason.
